Canadian PHYSICIANS with interests in South Asia (C-PISA- BC)
Founded in New Westminster BC, Canada in 1987 to engage and empower physicians to build and improve the health of South Asians. With a focus on CME, local education and community programs and social networks. PISA has been working and collaborating to support healthy civil society through various events including the Annual South Asian Health Conference, Physician CME sessions each year, social dinner and other events, participating with other organizations like the Canadian Indian Network Society, Fraser Health, University of British Columbia, local health foundations and other community events and organizations.

The Mission Statement defines PISA's operations, objectives, and approach to reach those objectives.
PISA: Mission Statement
- To empower physicians and health professionals to achieve high professional standards to improve people’s health from south Asian communities, locally, nationally and internationally.
- To identify the health needs of South Asian communities and advocate for better policies and practices to improve the availability and utilization of resources.
- To facilitate professional networking to foster academic and clinical initiatives for enhancing knowledge translation for the South Asian communities.
- Participate in local and global health agenda on South Asian communities by collaborating with similar organizations locally, nationally and globally.
- To actively contribute towards medical education and research to improve the well-being of the members of the South Asian communities.
- To encourage PISA members to support social and cultural organizations in promoting better health awareness working with local communities.
- To support PISA members’ wellness and professional development with a culturally effective path.
- To foster social interaction and a sense of family through cultural and social programs for our members.
